Influenza: PrologueThe sun's rays cast an auburn glow over the facility as dusk settled in. A deathly silence lingered as most of the guards had retired for the night. Only a handful of people were aware of the research taking place inside the laboratory.
Abigail was a shy woman. Her mousy brown bob scraped back in disarray behind the makeshift headband that was her glasses. She rushed down the corridor towards Dr. Chrone's chambers, clutching the newspaper tightly.
She knocked on the door and entered when she heard his mumbling. Dr. Grayson Chrone was a tall, muscular man with high cheekbones and deep blue eyes. His sun golden hair was carefully gelled back, not a hair out of place. He could be obnoxious at times but Abigail admired him.
People often called her naïve for doing so.
"Abi, what is it?" He asked in a pained tone.
"Dr Chrone, we made front page! The cure has been issued to GP's all over Britain. People are calling it the best medical breakthrough of our times!"

Nature's FightA star shines bright
It keeps on shining with all its might
Yet it knows in the morning it will be outdone
As it doesn't compare to the powerful sun
Despite this the star shines brightly
It fights with all its might
And it succeeds in showing its beauty
As we wish upon it each night
The rose, a thing of beauty
Yet has a fierce side
You can look but you can't touch
As the rose quickly withered and died
Sure enough the life of a rose is short
Yet we remember its beauty still
And we realize that the rose blooms again
Yes, it surely will
Falling for a GodI was told your name before I knew you
and i know that you're not ordinary
Your scent is so bewitching to me
I cannot resist this temptation
Your crooked smile, your narrowed eyes
The velvet of your voice
This tainted love I should avoid
But I don't have a choice.
Your skin is like diamonds
The way it shimmers in the sun
The shades of bronze hidden in your hair
Windswept perfectly as if you've been on a run
Your eyes like liquid topaz
Won't let me look away
I'll love you for eternity
And tell you every day.
It feels so strange like there's a hole in my heart
Months just go by but I'm lying here paralyzed
The window stays open in case you come back
You said it'd be like you never existed, do not tell lies.
How foolish I was, to think I was worthy
For a God like you
I'm falling apart and crumbling away
Tell me what do I do?
